Why do I do that to myself!?), so it was all still really fresh in my mind. I thought the first half of the film was amazing, but the second half was... too easy? Jack was much more easygoing, likeable and quick to catch on to "real life" in the latter part of the movie than in the second half of the book. I felt his transition to regular life in the movie was almost unrealistically smooth because a lot of the most frustrating, heartbreaking scenes were left out.
